Mellow Man Ace is a Cuban-American Rapper, Songwriter, The Godfather of the Latino Movement, Billboard Charting Hip Hop Artist and 4th Founding member of Cypress Hill.

Born in Cuba, he came to America with his family at 4 years old. They first arrived in Miami, moved to New Jersey and finally ended up moving to South Gate, California on Cypress Avenue where it all began.

He grew up playing baseball and when hip hop first started he learned to break-dance and took to the mic soon after and began writing lyrics and it was onward from there. Mellow Man Ace perfected his craft in lyrical writing with his savvy bilingual skills, coming up with the term known today as Spanglish. 

After leaving Cypress Hill in 1988 he went solo and released his debut album "Escape from Havana" and just 1 year later he hit top 20 Billboard Charts with his hit single "Mentirosa". In 1992 after the release of his album "Brother w/ Two Tongues" he seemingly vanished from the music industry until 2000 with the release of his album "From the Darkness into the Light", in 2004 he released "Vengo a Cobrar" and vanished again until 2015 when he resurfaced with the release of 2 albums "The Lost Decade" and "Restoring Order".
